Knowing this field and the way it communicates, I am well aware of the overflow of negative messages. I believe that we can motivate people to change their behaviour not by blaming them or making them feel guilty about their choices, but by providing concrete alternatives or at least making them feel good somehow. This is what I aim to do with my environmental illustrations- to provide visual pleasure together with a very clear environmental/social message. It should be simple and fun (and hopefully trigger a smile), otherwise it will only reach the “converted”.
